As a young girl growing up in the Hudson River Valley of New
York state, I was profoundly moved by the beauty of the region,
as was Thomas Cole, Frederick Church and Albert Berstadt before
me. My need to create art was fulfilled in painting landscapes
of that beauty.
Since moving to the arid region of southern
California, I have turned my creative focus towards portraits,
attempting to capture the personality of an individual. My art
is evolving now towards an attempt to capture a person's soul
rather than their character since my main interest in life is
Spirit, thus I hope to eventually master surrealism.
